illness policy
As a parent who formerly worked outside the home, i know how difficult it is to take time off work when your child is ill. However, to ensure the health of the group, your child will need to stay home if any of the below symptoms are present.
please keep your little angels at home if they are experiencing any of the following:
a fever of 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit, or higher during the past 24 hours.
Excessive mucus drainage that has changed from clear to a thick yellow or greenish discharge. This signifies a possible infection and may need to be assessed by a doctor.
Excessive Coughing.
Any unexplained rash.
Antibiotic treatment for longer than 24 hours.
Diarrhea and/or Vomiting within the last 48 hours.
Conjunctivitis (Pink eye). The eye is red with some yellow discharge.
Hair Lice. Your child must be nat and bug free to return to daycare.
Contagious diseases (including, but not limited to) Measles (red or German), chicken pox, lice, or scabies hand foot and mouth.
Any symptoms related to COVID-19 or any possible exposures. If any covid testing needs to be done, your child may not return until a negative test result is received. This also applies to any family members who are being tested for symptoms or exposures as well.
If your child is found ill while at the day care home, the Day Care Provider will contact you to retrieve your child. There will be a two-hour grace period to allow you to leave work, after the second hour a sick child fee of $ 20.00 per hour will be added to your normal daily rate.
I cannot provide care for sick children. Keep in mind most children would rather be in the comfort of their own home.
If your child becomes seriously ill or injured, and you cannot be reached, the doctor or medical facility listed on the emergency forms will be contacted and when deemed necessary, an ambulance will be summoned at the parent’s expense. I recommend that you leave a signed consent form with your physician to proceed with emergency medical treatment as needed.
A signed authorization is required for all medications administered to a child. It is necessary to list both prescription and non-prescription medications. Prescription medications must be for your child and for the current illness (prescription label attached). All medications must be kept in their original containers.
Scratches and scrapes are inevitable when children play and will be treated with antiseptics and a Band-Aid. For anything more serious, you will be notified at once.
Parents and provider will let each other know if any of the children have been exposed to or have come in contact with any contagious disease.
